IC 1396 Elephant’s Trunk Nebula
IC 1396 Elephant’s Trunk Nebula
This is my 2023 Elephant’s Trunk Nebula with bright ionized gas everywhere in Hydrogen, Sulfur, and Oxygen with a little addition of RGB color filters for stars. Located about 2400 light years away and has some amazing dark dust regions. Star formation is appearing in this dense dust with with a couple digging a opening in the ‘head’ region from stellar winds and radiation blasting away.
