IC 2177 Seagull Nebula
IC 2177 Seagull Nebula
This is a full RGBSHO version of the Seagull Nebula taken with a RASA 11 on an EQ6R… This target is down south for me, barely reaching 30 degrees and over some trees. There are even a couple open clusters, NGC 2235 and NGC 2343. This star forming nebula sits in the Orion Spur of our Milky Way galaxy, the same region where our solar system and sun lie. It’s about 3800 light years away from us, so it’s big, nearly 240 light years across.
