NGC 1909 Witch Head Nebula

NGC 1909 Witch Head Nebula

I was happy to grab 45 minutes of RGB data on this very faint reflection nebula near Orion.  Reflection nebula are unique in that they don’t energize themselves, but rather reflect the light from surrounding stars.  This region produces a better reflection of blue light than others, thus giving it a bluish tone to it.
