The Heart & Soul Nebula
The Heart & Soul Nebula
Pretty proud of this mosaic… this was my first full high quality image session taken with the new observatory dome and RASA 8 scope in monochrome. This is a HOO color palette with just Hydrogen and Oxygen taken to create the imagery. The heart & soul (IC1848 and IC1805) are close enough that I was able to do a 3×2 grid with 20% overlap to stitch together in APP. It’s big at over 8000+ pixels wide.
With the RASA f/2 optics and the dome automation I was able to capture all the Hydrogen in sets of 50 images per section in one night and all Oxygen images the next night… which is incredibly fast and would have taken me weeks with prior scope.
