The ASG Photon Cage for ZWO 461 was designed to provide tilt & backfocus in mind for this very unique large sensor camera. The ZWO 461's design lends itself to mount directly to the ZWO large filter wheel with a 99mm diameter 6 bolt pattern. With this photon cage, you can remove your stock black 5mm thick tilt plate from the 461 and replace it with this direct fit precision part.
Tilt Capabilities
The ASG Photon Cage is designed to put 4 precision tilt adjusters at the sensor level, allowing you to precisely dial in that extra large 2x full frame sensor on the 461. Each tilt adjuster is marked easily with a tilt fine thread adjuster and the lock screw next to it. Using the latest software such as ASTAP, NINA Hocus Focus, CCD Inspector or your own visual images you can dial those oblong shaped stars out of your field.
Backfocus Capabilities
The ASG Photon Cage provides backfocus adjustment with push-pull technology. Configure your entire optical train to -.5mm or -1mm under specification and then fine tune your backfocus in and out with our outer ring system. The Photon Cage offers about 5mm or so of total adjustment. No more adding washers or extra spacers here and there, now you can micro-adjust using fine thread adjustment your backfocus and dial in that perfect shot.
Mounting Options
There is nothing further needed to use the Photon Cage with your ZWO 461. You can simply remove the stock tilt plate and gain precision 4 corner tilting. The cage mounts with either 6 M2.5 screws to the ZWO large filter wheel OR with the aperture being M68 x 1 threads, common for astrophotography accessories.
- 99mm x 6 bolt pattern using M2.5 screws bolt directly to the ZWO 7x50 square filter wheel.
- M68 x 1mm female threads to mount with standard M68 accessories.
